Dismissal & Withdrawal

LMU-CDM reserves the right to dismiss any CDM student at any time before graduation.

Students who withdraw or are dismissed from LMU-CDM must complete the official check-out process before separation from the program is considered final. Failure to complete required exit procedures may result in a hold on the release of academic records.

In the case of voluntary withdrawal, the student must submit a written notice of resignation to the Associate Dean for Faculty and Students. The effective date of withdrawal will be recorded on the student’s official transcript.

In the case of dismissal, the Dean of LMU-CDM will notify the Associate Dean for Faculty and Students, who will provide instructions regarding the required check-out process.

Upon notification of a student’s separation from the program, the Associate Dean for Faculty and Students will issue formal communication to relevant LMU-CDM offices and faculty regarding the change in Student status.

Prior to departure, the student is required to:

  • Complete an exit interview with the Associate Dean for Faculty and Students
  • Fulfill all financial obligations to the University
  • Return all University property, including equipment, instruments, and identification materials
  • Complete all clinical responsibilities, including appropriate transfer or closure of patient care, as directed by the Office of Clinical Affairs

Student records, including transcripts, will be released only after all institutional obligations have been satisfied and in accordance with University policies. The student’s transcript will reflect the effective date of withdrawal or dismissal.
