The relationship between the LMU-CDM student and patient should always remain at a professional level. The student is not to engage in relationships with patients that are construed as unethical or illegal. Dating and intimate relationships with patients is not permissible. Allegations of unprofessional conduct may be considered improper behavior and may be grounds for disciplinary action, including dismissal from LMU-CDM. Students are not permitted to provide dental treatment to any patients, family, or friends without direct supervision from a Tennessee Licensed LMU faculty member.
